Speakers Spotlight
The Speakers Spotlight event requires students to use one of the competitive SPS topics of the current season to craft and deliver a speech that informs, persuades, or inspires the audience.

Registration Deadline - Thursday, February 11th, 2027
Video Submissions Due - Thursday, February 11th, 2027
Divisions
- Junior – Grades 4-6
- Middle Grades – Grades 7-9
- High School – Grades 10-12
Required Submission Forms
Any forms that require a signature must be scanned and sent by email to Chris Hill.
Cost
This event is now included in your annual membership dues, there is no additional fee once your school membership is paid.
Evaluation Process
Speeches are scored by:
- Strategic Problem Solving Trainer
- Experienced Coaches
State Finals Awards
State Finals winners are announced during the Strategic Problem Solving Component Event awards, held on the Monday of the Governor’s Cup State Finals.
Deadlines
Use the link below to register. You must submit your registration by Thursday, February 5th, 2025. Your video submission is due February 12th, 2025. We will send you an email confirmation when we receive your video.
Registration Limitations
You will be able to register mutiple students in multiple divisions with the same form. However, if you coach students from multiple schools in Speaker Spotlight, it is best to use a separate form. This form does not allow you to register students attending different schools on the same form.
