Berea College

This camp is designed to foster Governor’s Cup–and classroom–success. It will feature instruction in five Subject Areas and Future Problem Solving. Campers arrive on Tuesday morning and depart Friday afternoon.

Staff

Staff includes the top academic team coaches in Kentucky.

Curriculum

Course offerings may change with demand. The registration form will always be the most up-to-date. Campers may choose one class per period from the options below.

Lodging

Lodging is dormitory style, two per room, with community bathrooms. A day camper option is also available when you register.

Fees

Registration is $450 prior to June 10 and $485 after that date.

KAAC must receive full payment by June 25 unless invoicing arrangements have been made. Those unpaid at that time will forfeit their reservation. Reservations are considered complete when full payment and the liability form are received.

Courses for 2026

Students can choose one course per period.  All three periods will meet each day of the camp (see sample schedule). Students may choose to take the same subject in each period or a variety of subjects, whatever they prefer.

There will be a class size limit of 30 students per subject per period.  If the cap is reached, KAAC will reach out to students to change their selected course.

Period 1

Math

  • Geometry: Angles, Parallel Lines, Polygons, Circles, Solids
  • Indirect Measurement: Similar Polygons, Pythagorean Theorem, Special Right Triangles, Trigonometry

Science

  • Plants: Resources/Uses, Evolution, Life Cycles
  • Reproduction and Heredity

Social Studies

  • US Geography: Physical and Political
  • US Government: Major Documents and Citizenship

Language Arts

  • Sentences: Types, Clauses, Phrases, Structure, Verbals, Errors
  • Conventions: Mechanics, Language Usage, Punctuation, Capitalization
  • Parts of Speech and Their Uses

Arts & Humanities

  • Drama/Theater: Musical Theater and Broadway Plays

Math

  • Inequalities and Absolute Value
  • Radicals and Exponents

Science

  • Matter: Chemical and Physical Properties, Compounds, Mixtures, Elements
