FAQs

Who can participate?

Sixth Grade Showcase is for sixth-grade students only. Students must be enrolled in the school for which they compete.

What events make up the competition?

There are seven events:

  • Multiple choice Content Assessments in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Arts and Humanities;
  • Quick Recall
  • Composition

Students travel to host schools to take part in all events. The Content Assessments and Composition are conducted using custom online platforms developed by KAAC. Quick Recall is "in person."

Can students do both Showcase and Governor’s Cup?

Absolutely! One of the goals of the Showcase is to identify sixth-grade students who might contribute to your Governor’s Cup team.

Who do we play?

Once the registration deadline passes, teams are grouped into Sections of no more than 8 teams each based on geography.

Where do we play?

Volunteer host schools are solicited first; if no one volunteers in a Section, a host is assigned by KAAC.

What is the fee?

$90.
